On October 18, Beijing time, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger still hopes to win back Apple’s customer, but believes that in order to do this, Intel’s chip must be better than Apple’s self-developed chip.

In an interview with American news media Axios on Sunday local time, Kissinger said that he did not blame Apple for abandoning Intel and developing self-developed chips. “Apple thinks they can develop better chips than us,” he said. “They really do well. Therefore, what I have to do is develop better products than Apple’s self-developed chips. I hope to gradually win back Apple’s business and many other businesses.”

“During this period, I must ensure that our products are better than them, and my ecosystem should be more open and dynamic than theirs. We should create a more attractive reason for developers and users to use Intel chip based products,” Kissinger said. “Therefore, I must work hard to win back Apple’s business in this field.”

However, he also pointed out that re cooperation with Apple may take many years. Another option for apple is to use Intel’s chip manufacturing facilities. Intel has produced chips for Amazon, Qualcomm and other companies. Intel began to produce chips for Apple Mac in 2005, but Apple announced in 2020 that it would start using self-developed chips to replace Intel processors on MAC computers, with a transition period of two years.
