On the evening of the 7th, Tencent announced that it will continue to increase its investment in Hubei Province, and announced a series of investment plans, in-depth cooperation with Wuhan in digital government, smart education, smart travel, artificial intelligence, and security, to help the Wuhan digital industry in all aspects of construction and development. At the same time, within the next five years, Tencent’s staff in Hubei will reach four times the current size.
It is understood that Tencent will continue to promote the construction of Tencent (Wuhan) Digital Industry Headquarters. Among them, in terms of digital government and smart city, Tencent will continue to work with Wuhan local central enterprise Fiberhome Communications to promote the digital city of Wuhan through Wuhan Smart City Construction and Development Co., Ltd. Construction and operation of government and smart cities.
In terms of smart education, a Tencent Smart Education Base will be established in Wuhan to further increase the scale of Tencent Wuhan Online Education Platform Penguin Counseling in Han Dynasty and reach 4,000 employees within 3 years. At the same time, the offline experience center of Tencent Penguin Counseling was set up to radiate the whole country from Wuhan.
In the field of smart mobility, Tencent (Wuhan) Smart Mobility Base will be built, and Tencent Mobility College will be established to jointly cultivate digital talents in the automotive industry with Dongfeng Group, promote the innovation and entrepreneurship incubation in the field of automotive intelligent networking in Wuhan, and create a field benchmarking of national automobile intelligent networking.
It is worth mentioning that Tencent will also set up Tencent Cloud Micro-Artificial Intelligence Laboratory to focus on research and development and application of artificial intelligence products. At the same time, Tencent Cyber Security Academy will also land in Wuhan to provide assistance for the development of various smart industries in Wuhan.
During the epidemic, Tencent has been providing support for Hubei and Wuhan war epidemics through capital and technology. In the early stage of the outbreak, the Tencent Foundation announced the establishment of a 300 million yuan epidemic fund. With the development of the epidemic, the Tencent Foundation announced that it will increase the total capital to 1.5 billion yuan.
At the same time, Tencent Cloud assisted Hubei to launch the “Ehui Office” epidemic service mini-program and the “Wuhan Epidemic” mini-program to help Hubei Province promote the orderly flow of enterprises to resume production and personnel safety.
In addition, in order to help Hubei enterprises to resume production, Tencent Charity Foundation and Hubei Federation of Trade Unions donated 100,000 KN95 masks to Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Wuzhong Group. At present, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. has accelerated the resumption of production, and Nissan and other branded automobile production lines have been fully restored. The person in charge of Dongfeng thanked Tencent and the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions for donating protective materials, and said that it will increase cooperation with Tencent in the field of smart travel.
