Good news from Wuhan epidemic area! On January 28, after continuous struggles across the industry, the construction of communication facilities and the deployment of 5G networks for the second “Little Tangshan” Hospital in Wuhan, Raytheon Hospital, were fully completed.

On January 25, Wuhan Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters decided to build another “Xiaotangshan” hospital, Leishen Mountain Hospital, which is scheduled to be put into use on February 5. After receiving the notice, the Hubei communications industry moved quickly and took the initiative to take the initiative. Under the overall organization of the Hubei Provincial Communications Administration, it devoted itself to the construction of communications facilities and 5G network deployment tasks at Leishen Mountain Hospital.

Wuhan Telecom started to complete the verification of the optical fiber and wireless resources of Leishen Mountain Hospital in advance from January 25. After testing, China Telecom’s 4G/5G signal has achieved full coverage in the area and the site’s 4G/5G signal is good. At the same time, the 5G capacity expansion plan was formulated in conjunction with the Provincial Design Institute to further improve 4G/5G communication efficiency during busy hours. Wuhan Mobile added four new base stations in Jiangxia Leishen Mountain Hospital, all of which were opened on January 28.  Public security video, health and other special lines are constructed in accordance with 100G bandwidth, and all optical cables have been laid in place. Wuhan Unicom set up a security team in the afternoon of January 25, and quickly put into work. On January 27, the design of the new site of Raytheon Hospital was completed, and optical cables were laid. By 28, all base stations were fully operational, increasing network coverage capacity by 60%. On the afternoon of January 25, the Wuhan Iron Tower set up a “Leishen Mountain Party Commando” to carry out base station construction support. At 16:00 on the 26th, the tower installation of the new base station and the installation and testing of supporting facilities in the computer room were completed. By 11:00 on the 28th, all the facilities construction and renovation tasks of the base stations were completed.

At present, Leishen Mountain Hospital has achieved Gigabit network coverage and stable reception of 5G signals. The wireless network can support the concurrent communication needs of 25,000 people, which can meet remote command, remote consultation and remote surgery and data transmission. In the next step, the Hubei Administration will coordinate the infrastructure operators, Huawei and the Institute of Information and Communication Technology to accelerate the application of 5G + smart medical and other information applications, and help to win the fight against epidemic prevention and control.
