Recently, at the main forum of the opening ceremony of the 2023 China Computing Power Conference, Liu Jun, Executive Vice President and President of Lenovo Group in China, stated that this ecosystem will present three major features: terminal super intelligence, hybrid architecture computing, and industry full scenario applications.
“In the future, terminals will be embedded with supercomputing power, and the interaction between terminals with AI capabilities and users will continue to evolve. Super intelligent terminals can achieve seamless connection and collaboration between multiple devices, and various applications that fully integrate end-to-end AI models with user data will become users’ personal super intelligent assistants,” Liu Jun explained, “In addition, the training load of AI will further sink from the cloud to the edge and end, and be reasonably distributed on the cloud, edge, and end sides to form a cloud/edge/end hybrid architecture. From the deployment mode, AI can be mixed deployed according to different scenarios such as public and private domains. At the same time, the deployment of intelligent computing centers is accelerating, forming a mixed development pattern of intelligent computing/supercomputing/universal computing power. AI will be applied in all industry scenarios, resulting in exponential improvement in enterprise efficiency.” For example, among the over 100000 computers produced by Lianbao (Hefei) Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. every day, 80% are customized orders with a quantity of less than 5, and the scheduling complexity is approximately 160 times that of 10. Using artificial intelligence for postpartum scheduling, the daily scheduling time has been reduced from the previous 6 hours to only 90 seconds.
Building a complete AI ecosystem requires a comprehensive AI hardware infrastructure. According to data from International Data Corporation, Lenovo Group is the fastest growing provider of AI hardware infrastructure (servers and storage) in 2022, with a year-on-year growth of 139%, ranking third globally. To promote the construction of AI hardware infrastructure, Lenovo officially released the “Full Stack Intelligent Layout” at the 2023 China Computing Power Conference, which includes AI embedded intelligent terminals, AI oriented infrastructure, and AI native services and solutions.
“Lenovo’s AI oriented computing infrastructure has fully covered cloud and edge computing scenarios. In the future, all Lenovo’s computing infrastructure products will support AI, 50% of infrastructure research and development funds will be invested in the AI field, and AI technology will cover all AI applications.” Liu Jun said, standing at a new starting point in the era, Lenovo Group will continue to fully embrace artificial intelligence and accelerate the implementation of universal computing power, promote the in-depth development of China’s AI ecosystem and assist Chinese enterprises in accelerating their intelligent transformation.
