According to foreign media reports, after a 15% month on month increase in August, the export volume of South Korean semiconductor products continued to increase in September, but the year-on-year decline has not yet been reversed.
According to data from the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, foreign media reported that the export value of South Korean semiconductor products in September reached 9.9 billion US dollars, although it was not as high as 11.5 billion US dollars in the same period last year, a year-on-year decrease of 13.6%, but it was the highest export value in the past year.
According to data previously released by the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, the export value of South Korean semiconductor products in August was 8.56 billion US dollars, an increase of 1.34 billion US dollars from 9.9 billion US dollars in September, an increase of 15.6% month on month, and a growth rate comparable to the previous month.
The year-on-year decline of 13.6% in September means that the export value of South Korean semiconductor products has been declining for 14 consecutive months since August last year.
Driven by the high export value of semiconductor products in nearly a year, the export value of South Korean IT products also reached a new high in September, reaching 11 billion US dollars.
Driven by the continuous increase in semiconductor exports month on month, South Korea’s overall export situation has also continued to improve. According to data from the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, the overall export volume of South Korea in September was $54.66 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 4.4%. The year-on-year decline since October last year has continued, but the decline has significantly narrowed.
