Recently, Samsung announced that its 5G network equipment was adopted by NTTEAst, a Japanese telecom operator, for its 5G private network. The Japanese telecom operator is using Samsung’s cloud native 5GMacroCore and wireless access network. This will enhance connectivity and unlock diverse use cases for many enterprises in various industries in Japan.

NTTEAst chose Samsung Electronics to pave its 5G private network in March this year. NTTEast and Samsung have conducted many tests and demonstrations to discuss how to optimize Samsung 5G technology and network solutions for NTTEast customers. Finally, it led to commercialization.

Samsung is providing NTTEAst with its 5G network solutions, including its indoor and outdoor radios, baseband units, and the cloud native 5GMacroCore. This core solution supports the medium frequency band (4.75GHz) spectrum dedicated to the local 5G private network in Japan.

Using Samsung’s 5G cloud native 5GMacroCore, developers can develop and run applications in a cloud based environment, and achieve better agility and scalability. At the same time, Samsung’s 5G network solution will help many cross industry enterprises, including agriculture, automobile, construction, education, medical care, manufacturing, telecommunications and transportation.

In addition to Japan, Samsung also deployed its 5G dedicated network solutions in South Korea and the United States. In South Korea, with the support of Samsung, the first 5G dedicated network is deployed in Naver’s new headquarters. In the United States, Samsung has provided 5GFWA solutions to expand rural coverage and CBRS solutions to connect campus and other enterprises.
