Qualcomm Technologies launched the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G mobile platform, which is the first 4-series mobile platform equipped with 5G. Snapdragon 480 continues to help drive the further development of 5G, enabling users to access true global 5G connectivity and series-free performance to enhance on-demand production and entertainment experiences.

Snapdragon 480 5G mobile platform provides the most advanced 4-series functions so far:
5G and connectivity: Snapdragon 480 has Snapdragon X51 5GModem-RF system, and supports mmWave and Sub-6 GHz 5G; SA and NSA modes; Time Division Duplex (TDD), Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) and Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS), it can achieve the best mobile performance and connectivity. Snapdragon X51 supports several gigabit 5G connections, enabling near-instantaneous uploads and downloads, and supports multiple frequencies for flexibility and accessibility. With Qualcomm FastConnect 6200, Snapdragon 480 also provides 2×2 Wi-Fi (dual Wi-Fi antennas) with a set of key Wi-Fi 6 features, such as 8×8 detection with multi-user MIMO, in addition to significantly improved range and performance, bluetooth 5.1 and advanced wireless audio capabilities. Snapdragon 480 has other pioneering wireless technologies, such as support for dual-frequency GPS and NavIC to achieve precise location positioning.
Performance and battery: Snapdragon 480 allows smartphone users to maintain higher productivity and charge faster. The platform is based on 8nm process and has a Qualcomm Kryo 460 CPU, Qualcomm Adreno 619 GPU and Qualcomm Hexagon 686 processor up to 2.0 GHz, which can increase the performance of CPU and GPU by 100% and increase AI performance by 70% compared to the previous generation products which has been improved. Snapdragon 480 also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology, which is the first in a 4-series product.
Entertainment: Snapdragon 480 can upgrade streaming media and gaming user experience. 120fps FHD+ display support provides incredible content clarity as well as fast and smooth graphics rendering. The platform provides a fully immersive entertainment experience through Qualcomm aptX audio, optimizes the gaming experience of popular games, provides seamless streaming of high-definition content, and shortens application loading time.
