Nokia has announced an upgrade to its AVA energy efficiency software, expanding the range of solutions through enhanced algorithms and energy-saving measures, which will help communication service providers (CSPs) further reduce the power consumption of their networks.
Using improved machine learning algorithms, the enhanced Nokia AVA energy efficiency tool can now enable CSPs to reduce the power consumption of their data centers, as well as the power consumption of network base stations, batteries, and air conditioning units in telecommunications networks.
According to customer testing, as a multi vendor software tool, Nokia AVA energy efficiency software can help achieve up to 30% power consumption reduction, which is about 10 percentage points higher than the original software. This enhanced tool allows operators to automatically shut down idle and unused devices through algorithms, and completely disconnect hardware connections through remote power control modules.
Using its AVA energy efficiency software, Nokia has partnered with global CSPs on more than 50 completed or ongoing energy conservation projects because companies want to address environmental sustainability issues in their operations while reducing overall energy costs.
According to a recent report released by Analysys Mason, CSPs spend 3% to 20% of their total revenue on energy costs, “Taming Increased Energy Use: The Key Role of AI Based Energy Efficiency Solutions.”.
