Nokia announced the expansion of its partnership with NL ix, Europe’s largest distributed Internet exchange provider. Nokia will provide its most advanced 7750 SR-s platform, driven by FP5, which is its groundbreaking routing silicon. This deployment will enable NL ix to launch 400GE and 800GE access and interconnection services for its cloud providers and National Research and Education Network (NREN) customers.

Nokia FP5 is one of the earliest deployments in Europe. The high-capacity capabilities of 400GE and 800GE will accelerate the capabilities of NL ix, and meet current and future customers’ demands for faster access and interconnection services with lower costs and higher power efficiency. In the same space and power range, FP5 allows more than three times the capacity of Nokia FP4 hardware to be delivered.

The new deployment of the Nokia 7750 sr – 14 will enable NL ix to provide 800GE connectivity and increase the density of 400GE services in more than 100 European data centers it operates. This IP deployment complements the NL ix Europe wide low latency optical transmission network provided by Nokia in 2021.
