Nokia announced that it will deploy a new high-speed optical transmission backbone network for MX Fiber to provide reliable and high-capacity connections for Southeast Mexico, one of the most densely populated areas in the country that has long lacked adequate infrastructure.

This future oriented network lays the foundation for digitalization and can support the economic revitalization and modern services of communities, businesses, and government projects. Users in Chiapas, Tabasco, Quintana Roo, Campeche and Veracruz, which will be covered soon, will enjoy faster Internet access, more perfect cloud access, and support for data intensive applications, which previously lacked sufficient infrastructure.

The 1800 kilometer expansion of MX Fiber adopts Nokia Flex Grid DWDM technology and 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS), which can provide scalable 10G, 100G, and 200G services. This capacity enables customers to connect modern data centers, industrial parks, and underwater transmission hubs, which are crucial for business, transportation, and digital inclusion.

The Nokia 1830 PSS solution ensures efficient and cost-effective service delivery, seamlessly upgrading to 400G and 800G without affecting existing business. The built-in dynamic network management and real-time performance monitoring achieved through Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) allows MX Fiber customers to rest assured, ensuring robust connections, rapid response, and meeting future needs at all times.
