Nokia 7220 IXR D2/D3 Internet Router, which implements Nokia SR Linux Network Operating System (NOS), will be deployed as the core switching data center leaf platform of atNorth data center structure. The deployment of the data center is based on the bare metal server running OpenStack Ionic, which is integrated with Nokia SR Linux NOS through open-source upstream code. This provides automated network provisioning with enhanced visibility, additional network stability, and the ability to perform tasks such as multi leaf redundancy during access.

Nokia’s data center hardware platform features eco-friendly design and innovation, which reduces power consumption and increases total cost of ownership (TCO). AtNorth’s HPC and AI services support the most difficult and demanding HPC and AI workloads, provide 100% more computing than any other solution, and provide unaffected performance and low latency levels. Its HPCaaS (High Performance Computing as a Service) solution combines decarburization with performance to provide lower TCO, flexible capacity, storage and support, and can automatically scale to the workload.

Guy D’hauwers, director of high-performance computing and artificial intelligence at North, said: “Sustainability is the core value of the company. Our data center uses 100% renewable energy and supports the principle of circular economy. Nokia is a natural supplier partner for us to develop and expand services in the entire Nordic region with its energy saving and the most advanced hardware design solutions.”

Manolo Ortiz, senior vice president of Nokia EMEA Webscale business, said: “atNorth provides customers with reliable, scalable, high-performance computing power, and uses renewable environmental resources to power their websites in the most sustainable and economical way. We are glad that they chose Nokia’s 7220 IXR platform to support their corporate plans and business expansion.”
