China Mobile has 3.98 million base stations and a total connection size of 1.7 billion
In recent years, China Mobile has responded to the trend of network technology introduction and the law of industrial development, and has achieved remarkable results in providing connection services:
First, to build the world’s largest network, serving the world’s largest customers, now China Mobile has a total of 3.98 million base stations, the total connection size reached 1.7 billion, including 930 million mobile users, 1.6 billion broadband users, 8 million government and enterprise customers, and the number of Internet connections exceeds 630 million.
Second, build the world’s largest Internet of Things connection management platform, the daily average APR calls more than 450 million times, serving nearly 120,000 companies.
Third, build open and share the ecology. Established 5G Joint Innovation Center for the world, built 22 open laboratories, and gathered more than 500 partners. It is possible to take advantage of the trend and face the era of all things. The telecom operators can only accelerate the development and better serve the historical mission if they can see the changes in the situation and adapt to the new industrial transformation trend.
At the same time, China Mobile Yang Jie pointed out that the current industrial development is also facing profound changes, there are four changes here:
First, the economy has changed from high-speed development to high-quality development;
Second, information and communication technologies have transformed from the basic driving force for economic development to the core engine that leads economic development. At present, information and communication technologies are deeply penetrating into economic, social and people’s livelihoods, and the digital economy is booming. In 2018, China’s digital economy has exceeded 31 trillion yuan, contributing more than one-third of GDP. It is expected that China’s digital economy will account for more than 55% of GDP in 2035. The guidance of information and communication technology to economic development will become the core weapon to promote economic development.
Third, the basic telecommunications business has accelerated from scale operation to scale-based value scale. As the demographic dividend subsides, the industry development has only encountered bottlenecks due to the increase in scale and volume. The entire industry, including the first five months of this year, even experienced negative growth. Under this circumstance, the role of the Internet of Everything to promote the development of the industry is constantly emerging.
Fourth, the information and communication market has accelerated from factor competition to “factor + capability” competition. In the era of all things, the digital demand for smart furniture and ultra-high video is more complicated and changeable. It is difficult to cater to the market simply relying on traditional services. Promoting the deep integration of elements and capabilities, and realizing the transition from satisfying demand to creating demand and leading demand will become an inevitable demand for the high-level competition of all things.
At present, the world is accelerating the development of 5G. Not long ago, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a 5G commercial license, which also marks China’s entry into the 5G commercial era. On June 25, China Mobile also just released the “5G+” plan, indicating that it is necessary to grasp the historical opportunities of 5G development, conform to the trend of the Internet of Everything, deepen the implementation of the big connection strategy, and further expand the connection scale and strengthen the connection application based on 5G. China Mobile will accelerate the construction of 5G: building more than 50,000 5G base stations nationwide in 2019
Recalling the content released by China Mobile on “5G+” on June 25, Chairman Yang Jie said that China Mobile will accelerate the pace of 5G network construction. In 2019, more than 50,000 5G base stations will be built nationwide, and 5G commercialization will be realized in more than 50 cities. In 2020, the network coverage will be further expanded to provide 5G commercial services in all cities above the prefecture level.
At present, China Mobile has the world’s largest 4G network, with 4G base stations accounting for more than half of the country’s total, enabling rapid network deployment, and China Mobile has two frequencies of 2.6GHz and 4.9GHz, enabling low-cost and efficient network construction.
Yang Jie further pointed out that China Mobile’s 5G+ program will promote 5G+AICDE integration innovation through 5G+4G collaborative development, and promote the integration and innovation of 5G and artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, edge computing and other new information technologies. Compared with 4G, 5G access technology has unique advantages, but in order to make 5G play more value, we must realize the deep integration of 5G+AICDE. At the same time, we must promote the ecological co-construction of 5G+Ecology, promote the extension of 5G+X applications, and promote the common development of 5G and more industries for all walks of life.
He said that 5G, as the aorta of social information flow, the accelerator of industrial transformation and upgrading, and the new cornerstone of digital society construction, has become a broad consensus of society.
