MediaTek verifies that its Filogic Wi-Fi 7 technology can reach peak speeds as defined by IEEE 802.11be. At the same time, MediaTek also demonstrated Multi-Link Operation (MLO) technology, which can aggregate multiple channels on different frequency bands at the same time, even if the frequency band is interfered or congested, the data can still be transmitted seamlessly, resulting in faster and more reliable network connectivity, which is critical for applications such as video streaming and gaming that require constant, sustained, and real-time throughput.

Wi-Fi 7 brings brand new capabilities to all available Wi-Fi spectrum, including 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz. Wi-Fi 7 can pass 320MHz channel and 4K quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) technology, and the transmission speed is 2.4 times faster than Wi-Fi 6 under the condition of using the same number of antennas. Important features of Wi-Fi 7 also include MLO technology to reduce latency by transmitting data on multiple Wi-Fi frequency bands, and multi-user resource unit (MRU) capabilities to reduce and avoid signal interference.
MediaTek has been actively involved in R&D since the inception of the Wi-Fi 7 standard and is one of the first companies to adopt the technology. MediaTek’s products with Wi-Fi 7 technology are expected to be available in 2023.
