According to PC manufacturer sources, Intel will postpone placing 3nm chip orders with TSMC until the fourth quarter of 2024.
PC industry insiders said that in recent years, Intel’s manufacturing process and PC platform blueprints have been frequently revised, and the delay in product launch has seriously disrupted the production and marketing plans of the supply chain.

The source said that the cooperation between Intel and TSMC in 3nm manufacturing will be postponed to the fourth quarter of 2024 to manufacture GFX tile for Arrow Lake, and added that Panther Lake and Nova Lake are expected to be launched in the third quarter of 2025 and 2026 respectively.
Due to the rapid decline in revenue and profits, Intel recently said that it was planning to reduce the compensation of the entire company’s management. The basic salary of CEO Gelsinger will be reduced by 25%, and the basic salary of Intel’s executive leadership team will be reduced by 15%.
Intel has been in a downturn in recent years. Although it has adopted cost-cutting strategies such as downsizing, it is expected that it will continue to lose money in the first quarter of 2023 in the face of weak PC market and intensified competition from AMD.
The source said that the personal computer market is expected to remain weak throughout the year, and even Intel’s major products may not stimulate demand.
