Inseego and Nokia announced that they have signed an agreement to acquire Nokia’s Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) CPE business. The transaction must meet customary closing conditions before it can be completed. This transaction will consolidate Inseego’s position as a global wireless broadband leader, expanding its product portfolio to include fixed wireless, mobile broadband, and cloud management connectivity businesses for both consumer and enterprise markets. It is expected to approximately double the company’s revenue and give it a global presence.
The transaction includes plans for both parties to conduct joint market expansion activities in the 6G and wireless edge fields in 2026, in order to seize the opportunities brought by artificial intelligence and further promote the development of fixed wireless access services. The cooperation between the two parties will also explore opportunities for joint innovation and operator 5G monetization, as well as growth opportunities for consumers and businesses in the wireless edge field. These measures are expected to support and drive customer continuity, future revenue growth, and technological leadership in the wireless edge field.
Inseego CEO Juho Sarvikas said, “Inseego has taken a transformative step. This acquisition expands our scale, broadens our product portfolio, and positions us as a global wireless broadband leader spanning both consumer and enterprise markets. Equally important, it has created opportunities for deep collaboration with Nokia in the wireless edge field, where AI driven workloads, cloud connectivity, and next-generation networks are accelerating convergence. We look forward to working with Nokia to provide continuity for today’s customers and employees, and together create greater value in the future.”
Konstanty Owczarek, Chief Corporate Development Officer of Nokia, said: “Inseego is the right strategic partner for this business and Nokia customers. This agreement reflects Nokia’s strategic shift towards simplifying its operational model and focusing its product portfolio on driving the AI super cycle and network AI driven transformation infrastructure. This transaction provides strong continuity for the client and creates a collaborative opportunity to combine Nokia’s network leadership with Inseego’s professional advantages in the wireless edge field. We believe that this will put the business in a favorable position for continuous innovation, broader market opportunities, and long-term growth.”
According to the agreement, upon completion of the transaction, Nokia will acquire approximately 7% equity of Inseego, held in the form of common stock and warrants, valued at approximately $20 million. When the agreement is signed, Nokia will also invest an additional $10 million in Inseego in the form of common stock and warrants to further strengthen business cooperation, bringing its total shareholding to approximately 11%.
The transaction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to specific terms and conditions. This agreement is not financially significant for Nokia. Nokia will consult with the labor management committee or other employee representative organizations where applicable. Nokia and Inseego will work closely together to ensure seamless customer continuity through carefully managed transitions, with a high emphasis on service, support, management, and personnel continuity.
