According to Huawei’s latest annual sustainability report, as of the end of 2019, its global employees totaled 194,000 (this figure was 188,000 at the end of 2018), of which approximately 96,000 were R&D employees, accounting for 49%.

The report pointed out that Huawei’s employees came from 157 countries and regions around the world. In China, there are employees from 43 ethnic groups. The company has always insisted on creating a harmonious and inclusive working environment for employees, giving different employees enough development space and creating an efficient and relaxed working atmosphere, so that each employee can freely exert the maximum potential in the organization.

At the same time, as an international company, Huawei has been actively promoting the localization process of overseas employees. In 2019, Huawei employs more than 37,000 employees overseas, and the average localization rate of overseas employees is about 67%.

It is worth mentioning that the report stated that Huawei has continuously absorbed “top talents” from a global perspective and with world-class topics based on its business strategy. It attaches great importance to the construction of local talent teams, creating openness and tolerance, encouraging trial and error, respecting professional atmosphere and radiating the creativity of employees.

The company proposed in the president’s office email on June 20 last year that it would recruit 20-30 talented young people from all over the world, and plans to recruit 200-300 people from all over the world in 2020. It is expected that these talented teenagers “like ‘loaches’, drill our organization and activate our team”. In July last year, it was announced that eight top students in 2019 will be given an annual salary of up to RMB 2 million, all of whom have a doctorate degree.
