During the 2025 Mobile World Congress (MWC), Huawei released an upgraded FTTO 2.0 solution, leading the development of 10G campus networks.
Perry Yang, President of Huawei Enterprise Optics, said, “For campus networks, Wi Fi 7 has entered a rapid development stage, and ‘fiber optic replacing copper cables’ has become the choice of many customers. As of now, over 10000 parks worldwide have deployed FTTO solutions.”华为 的图像结果
Huawei launched the FTTO2.0 solution in 2024, which supports the continuous evolution of campus networks from 10G to 50G. The newly upgraded FTTO 2.0 solution has achieved four major breakthroughs:
Bandwidth upgrade to achieve 10G to Wi Fi:
Huawei has launched the industry’s first commercial 50G PON for park scenarios that require high network performance, such as VR classrooms and pathology diagnosis rooms. After upgrading the campus network from 10G PON to 50G PON, it can achieve 50G to classrooms and 10G to Wi Fi, allowing campus users to enjoy ultra wideband and various network services through a single fiber optic cable.
For the smart classroom scenario, Huawei has launched the 10G optical terminal P883H, which supports 2.5Gbps to the terminal, making online classrooms smoother. For office scenarios, Huawei has launched the 10G high-performance Wi Fi 7-optical AP W817C, which supports mobile office without network access.
Scene upgrade:
For hotel scenarios, Huawei has launched the outdoor 10G Wi Fi 7-light AP W817T, which can cover outdoor areas such as hotel swimming pools and beaches. For the education metropolitan area network scenario, Huawei has launched the optical gateway E853E, which supports remote PON ports and flexible configuration to meet all business access needs of primary schools and kindergartens.
In addition, for the hospital ward scenario, Huawei has launched a 10G panel type ONU P892M, which supports fiber optic direct connection to the hospital bed without the need for an information box and can be directly installed on the bedside panel.
Upgrade operations and maintenance from a single park to multiple parks:
The multi tenant network management platform One NMS can manage multiple MSP tenants, reduce redundant construction, simplify operation and maintenance, and lower operation and maintenance costs by 30%.
Plan upgrade from manual to AI automated:
Huawei has launched the industry’s first AI planning tool for all-optical parks, which can recognize CAD drawings and automatically generate configurations, reducing network design time from two days to one hour.
