FLAG is deploying WaveLogic 6 Extreme (WL6e) 1.6 Tb/s coherent optical technology on Ciena’s Waveserver platform for over 16000 kilometers of dedicated fiber pairs in ECHO submarine cable systems, operating in conjunction with RLS line systems. This upgrade will maximize the performance of one of the few direct fiber optic cable lines between Singapore and the United States, and support the vision of FLAG connecting major economies around the world. ECHO has added a trans Pacific route to FLAG’s global network, further accelerating the growth of FLAG’s Fiber Links Around the Globe (FLAG) business.

This trans Pacific route connecting Singapore, Guam, and California enhances network resilience and provides direct access to key digital hubs in Asia and North America. The ECHO line complements the India Asia Express network using WL6e technology, forming a fully integrated high-performance channel that connects major data centers and economic hubs across India, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and North America.
