Ciena’s optical solutions will enable Fidium to deliver 400G wavelength services for next-generation data centers, operators, enterprises, and hyperscale operators in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston regions

Fidium, a leading provider of fiber-optic and advanced high-capacity solutions, is deploying cutting-edge optical technology from Ciena, a global leader in high-speed connectivity, to introduce next-generation wavelength services up to 400G for its rapidly expanding DASH fiber-optic network, connecting Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston.

With the support of Ciena’s optical solutions, Fidium’s DASH fiber-optic network is at the forefront of Texas’ expanding technology corridor. The network meets the growing bandwidth demands of enterprises, operators, wholesale clients, and fiber-to-the-tower (FTTT) customers while delivering high-performance data center interconnect (DCI) solutions for data and applications with speed and reliability.

Through the DASH network, Fidium now connects over 65 network data centers and 40 near-net data centers across Texas, continuously expanding to meet the growing demand for high-capacity, low-latency routing. The company’s Longview-to-Corpus Christi line extends the DASH network’s reach beyond the state’s largest metropolitan area, providing additional connectivity to regions traditionally lacking direct access to high-capacity fiber infrastructure.

To support this network upgrade, Fidium is deploying Ciena’s 6500 Reconfigurable Line System (RLS) and Wavelogic coherent optics (Wavelogic 5 Extreme 800G transceiver and Wavelogic 5 Nano 400G pluggable module) to provide transmission speeds of up to 800Gbps per wavelength in the C and L bands, with seamless scalability to 1.6Tb/s per wavelength using Wavelogic 6 Extreme when needed.

This collaboration is part of Fidium’s broader transformation, consolidating all residential, commercial, and wholesale services under a single brand.
