The Chengdu Ziyang Metro S3 Line has a total length of 39.37 kilometers, covering key areas from Chengdu to Ziyang. Among them, the Ziyang section is 19.87 kilometers long, with 3 elevated stations and 4 underground stations along the line, and a tunnel length of 10.42 kilometers. The complex route environment presents new challenges for site selection, construction, testing, and other work in mobile network construction.
Faced with these challenges, by introducing Ericsson’s latest IRU indoor distribution switching unit, it supports head end pull distances greater than 300 meters, simplifying deployment difficulty. The Ericsson skin station external antenna solution solves the continuous coverage problem in low capacity demand areas and reduces the overall cost of equipment in such areas by more than 50%. Not only has it improved operational efficiency, but it has also significantly reduced costs.
By utilizing Ericsson’s distributed Pico RDS system and fully utilizing the three frequency and five mode Dot products, 5G and 4G networks across three frequency bands are enabled to meet the dual requirements of precise coverage and capacity matching in high-density pedestrian scenarios at stations and tunnels. In addition, by adopting Ericsson’s industry-leading 4G/5G two channel dual frequency five mode indoor source RRU products and eight channel dual frequency five mode outdoor macro RRU products, seamless coverage of the entire 5G network is ensured. Combined with Ericsson’s multi-point transmission and multi class interference suppression technology, the mobile network signal on the S3 line is more stable and the user experience is better.
The successful deployment of 5G network on Chengdu Ziyang Metro S3 Line provides excellent reference experience for the network coverage construction of more smart transportation projects in the future. In the future, Ericsson will continue to leverage its leading advantages in communication technology to provide efficient and reliable network support for more infrastructure projects. By continuously innovating and optimizing network solutions, we help operators build smarter and more connected cities!
