Ericsson and Zain have signed an agreement to expand Zain’s Bahrain mobile broadband network, enhance national capacity and coverage, and provide users with a better experience.

This expansion will deploy Ericsson’s latest Radio Access Network (RAN) products to help Zain Bahrain achieve digital transformation and enhance user experience.

The equipment provided by Ericsson includes:

Triple frequency wireless unit Radio 4823: By reusing existing antennas, the uplink throughput can be doubled

Dual band FDD Massive MIMO wireless unit AIR 3285: optimized for weight and volume, facilitating rapid deployment of high-capacity sites and meeting the demand for surge in uplink capacity

Radio 4486: Maximizing low-frequency spectrum performance and improving user experience at the edge of the community

After expansion, Zain Bahrain’s network performance will significantly improve, and its 4G and 5G spectrum resources will also be more efficiently utilized.
