The multi band enhancement solution combines the high availability of low-frequency microwave bands and the high capacity of E-bands, which can be used at longer distances and a wider geographical area; Significantly expand coverage and improve overall network capacity.
The combination of high data throughput, low latency coverage, reliability, and simplified outdoor deployment of the multi band booster solution makes it suitable for applications such as fixed wireless access and the requirements introduced by 5G Advanced.
It will also enhance the amount of data transmitted between cellular towers and mobile network operator cores (backhaul connections) in the network.
This solution enables the faster launch of 5G and 5G advanced services, benefiting consumers in rural and underserved communities. For enterprise users, this solution can be used to connect different sites within the enterprise network, with high capacity and minimal indoor footprint, without waiting for fiber optic availability, which will accelerate their digital journey.
A completely outdoor solution also does not require rooms or cooling requirements, making it more environmentally friendly and energy sustainable.
It allows the combination of E-band (using Ericsson’s MINI-LINK 6352) and traditional microwave band (using Ericsson’s MINI-LINK 6365+MINI-LINK 6371) to leverage the advantages of two frequency ranges. This combination will expand the coverage and capacity of microwave links, and significantly improve spectrum utilization. The coverage range of the e-band has been doubled, and the capacity of the traditional band has increased by five times.
