CommScope said it will reorganize into four operating divisions starting January 1, 2020. The move is part of a strategy to maximize the acquisition of ARRIS and Ruckus Networks earlier this year. The four parts are campus network, broadband network, outdoor wireless network and home network.

The Gion campus network will incorporate CommScope’s current products for public and private networks in campus premises, data centers and buildings. It combines the current Ruckus network, enterprise, and distributed coverage and capacity (DCCS) services to meet Wi-Fi and switching, distributed antenna systems (DAS), licensed and unlicensed small base stations and enterprise fiber and copper infrastructure service requirements. Fiber optic products will focus on cabling requirements for hyperscale data centers and cloud customers. Ben Cardwell, the latest senior vice president and head of CommScope Mobile Solutions and Connectivity Solutions, will lead the new unit. As of September 30, 2019, products in this segment have driven estimated net sales for the year to date of approximately $ 1.6 billion.

Broadband network will combine the company’s network cable and connection business with network and cloud business. Products in this market segment will include CCAP, PON, video systems, access technology, fiber and coaxial cables, fiber and copper connections, and rugged closed boxes. As of September 30, 2019, these products have estimated net sales of approximately $ 2.1 billion. KevinKeefe will lead this market segment. Keefe acquired ARRIS, joined the company, and most recently served as senior vice president and head of the network and cloud division.

Outdoor wireless networks will be part of CommScope’s RF Products and Integrated Solutions Division to oversee the company’s macro and metro network business. Includes base station antennas, RF filters, tower connections, microwave antennas, metro and cabinet / steel, accessories, SAS and Comsearch. Farid Firouzbakht is the latest senior vice president and head of the RF Products business unit of the CommScope Mobility Solutions division. He will be responsible for this new unit, which has estimated net sales of approximately $ 1.2 billion as of September 30.

Home Network will take over the company’s current Consumer Premise Equipment (CPE) business. As of September 30, 2019, the device’s estimated net sales are approximately $ 2.6 billion.  The product line will include broadband gateways (coaxial, fiber optic and wireless), video set-top boxes and home appliances.

CommScope senior management expects that the new structure will accelerate the company’s integrated technology roadmap, becoming more agile and achieving greater revenue in fast-growing business areas. President and CEO Eddie Edwards said, “Since the acquisition of ARRIS was completed in April, we have created a strong company which we believe is the most attractive and diverse for corporate and service provider customers. Of the world’s leading industry-leading technology portfolio. We hope that our new operating model will enable us to realize significant advantages in cost and revenue synergies, strengthen our technology leadership, and support our long-term growth strategy. By integrating technology and product platforms, we will accelerate the development of end-to-end network systems that can shape the most advanced networks of the future and help our customers unlock the full potential of the upcoming 5G. “
