Cirion Technologies recently announced the launch of a new Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) product in Latin America, aimed at transforming enterprise network connectivity in data centers, hybrid clouds, and AI environments. Leveraging Cirion’s proprietary infrastructure spanning over 20 countries, the service enables enterprises to activate, adjust, and scale network services in a manner similar to cloud consumption, positioning Cirion as one of the few competitive regional operators in the global NaaS market.
Designed specifically for the AI era, this solution integrates automation, programmability, and digital experiences, transforming rigid networks into agile, scalable infrastructure capable of real-time self-configuration. In its initial phase, NaaS will be available in specific segments of Cirion’s network and its regional-neutral operator data center ecosystem, supported by over 105,000 kilometers of fiber-optic infrastructure.
The first phase of deployment focuses on automated data center interconnection, enabling customers to directly order, configure, and activate high-capacity network services through the Cirion customer portal, reducing delivery time from days or weeks to near real-time. This integration operates seamlessly atop customers’ existing network and security infrastructure, eliminating the need for hardware replacement or access policy modifications. NaaS offers self-service capabilities, operational visibility, and dynamic bandwidth management, bringing network connectivity closer to the flexible consumption model of cloud services.
Santiago Londoño, CEO of Cirion Latin America Connectivity, stated: “In Latin America today, when a company needs more bandwidth or new cloud connectivity, it often has to wait weeks and sign new contracts. NaaS eliminates this friction—networks adapt to business needs, not the other way around.”
This solution leverages Ciena’s optical technology, coordinates through Carma’s network and digital infrastructure platform, and enables autonomous management via a web-based portal, delivering programmable optical connectivity services. Fernando Capella, Ciena CALA Southern Region Director, noted: “With Ciena’s technology, Cirion is transforming its network into a programmable platform—where connectivity capabilities can be activated and scaled like cloud services.”
As part of the project, Carma developed and integrated API based interfaces to connect Cirion’s digital service platform with Ciena’s Navigator network control suite, enabling automatic activation of wavelength services across Cirion’s extensive fiber and subsea network footprint. The wavelength service is the first product implemented through the new NaaS framework, and more transmission and IP service plans will be launched later.

The Latin American cloud market is expected to grow from $63 billion in 2025 to $125 billion in 2030, but traditional network connectivity models still rely on fixed circuits and take weeks to change. NaaS applies the elasticity, automation, and pay as you go principles of cloud computing to the network. This urgency is driven by the new generation of artificial intelligence (Agentic AI), which requires real-time dynamic connectivity across data centers and cloud environments.
The on-demand services provided by Cirion have regional coverage, fast activation, and end-to-end management capabilities, including performance monitoring, usage metrics, and API driven operations. Cirion will showcase this innovation at ITW 2026, demonstrating a new generation of on-demand enterprise network connectivity for Latin America.
