Recently, Chongqing Mobile and ZTE Communications completed the commercial pilot of SPN network intelligent dynamic energy-saving technology in Chongqing. The actual measured data of the current network shows that after adopting this technology, the SPN network can effectively reduce network power consumption while ensuring business security and performance, fully demonstrating the excellent ability of dynamic AI energy-saving technology in building sustainable green bearer networks.
Currently, ‘green and sustainable development’ has received unprecedented attention. China proposes the grand goal of “3060” dual carbon. In the field of network infrastructure construction, building a green and energy-saving network based on sustainable development will become an important manifestation of the overall competitiveness of operators. Therefore, energy conservation and emission reduction are imperative and challenging for operators.
To address the above challenges, Chongqing Mobile and ZTE Communications actively explore innovative technologies for SPN network energy conservation, expanding their own intelligent network energy conservation scenarios and new solutions, taking the carrier network as a breakthrough point. By introducing AI technology and utilizing the tidal effect observed by the periodic changes in current network traffic, Chongqing Mobile intelligently analyzes the changes in network business load, achieving precise control over the sleep and wake-up of energy consuming units such as system boards/modules/chips, and achieving energy conservation and consumption reduction while ensuring network security and business service quality.
According to pilot data, Chongqing Mobile is expected to save 1.23 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually, equivalent to an annual reduction of 497 tons of standard coal, after the energy-saving function is activated in the current SPN network. This pilot project explores an effective new technological approach for Chongqing Mobile to simultaneously improve social benefits and commercial value through energy conservation and consumption reduction, which will accelerate Chongqing Mobile’s transformation to a green and efficient ecological network.
In the future, Chongqing Mobile will continue to cooperate with ZTE to explore and implement more innovative technologies with sustainable development, practice the concept of green and low-carbon network construction, and contribute to the construction of a modern society where people and nature coexist harmoniously.
