DZS announced that Botswana Fiber Networks (BoFiNet) is a leading wholesale supplier of domestic and international telecommunications infrastructure in Africa, as well as the country’s largest fiber optic network operator. It has deployed key solutions in DZS’s access and user edge product portfolio to provide world-class digital connectivity and help drive economic growth. BoFiNet utilizes the market leading DZS Velocity Fiber to Enterprise system and DZS Helix pre installed solution to fulfill its ongoing mission of becoming the country’s communication backbone by providing multi gigabit digital services to licensed communication service providers, government agencies, and anchoring agencies. With the DZS solution, BoFinet’s customers can provide their end users with the latest generation of fiber optic services.

As part of this project, BoFiNet is deploying the DZS solution, utilizing 10 Gigabit Symmetric Passive Optical Network (XGS PON) technology to enable fiber optic connectivity between enterprises and anchoring institutions in cities such as Mahalapye, Kanye, Tlokweng, and Molepolole. This most advanced network enables BoFiNet to expand its existing communication infrastructure, realize the seamless integration of next-generation data, voice and video services, and make the company the main source of ultra-high speed Internet bandwidth for enterprises, government agencies, institutional anchors, retail users and personal business customers in the region.
