ADVA announced that BMC TV deployed its FSP 150 Carrier Ethernet technology to transmit coverage of the 2022 Winter Paralympics from Beijing to London. Powerful low-power demarcation devices help ensure a highly reliable and cost-effective service, enabling viewers in the UK to receive live content on HDTV and online streaming. BMC TV, which specializes in broadcast media over IP, chose ADVA because of its simplicity, feature-rich technology, and strong support from the team. The project also received extensive support from Fiber Technologies, a recognized solutions integrator and long-term ADVA partner.

BMC TV’s network is built on the MEF 3.0 compliant ADVA FSP 150-XG108 series, enabling BBC Channel 4 to provide HD on-demand coverage of the game. The ADVA FSP 150-XG108 series has a small footprint and redundant power supplies to efficiently aggregate 1Gbit/s services into 10Gbit/s wavelengths. This solution has an extended temperature range without the need for expensive air conditioning. It is optimized for cost-sensitive high-bandwidth edge applications and also features hardware-assisted synchronization.
