Adtran announced that it has won two FTTH Innovation Awards at the 2025 FTTH Conference, with its SDK 6405 Optical Line Terminal (OLT) and ALM Fiber Monitoring Platform recognized as outstanding technologies supporting the next generation of fiber optic networks. This award is organized by the FTTH Council Europe and aims to recognize innovations that accelerate fiber broadband deployment while improving scalability, operational efficiency, and user experience. Adtran received awards in two categories: “Active Infrastructure – Central Network” and “Installation of Equipment, Tools, Testing and Measurement Instruments”.

Adtran’s SDK 6405 won the Central Network category award for its 50G PON functionality and decomposition architecture. As part of the SDK 6000 series, it supports GPON, XGS-PON, and 50G PON on each port, enabling providers to provide multi gigabit services for residential, commercial, and return use cases on a single fiber optic cable. Its modular design eliminates the trade-off between short-term costs and long-term scalability. With the help of SDK 6405, suppliers can gradually increase 50G OLTs to meet growing demand without interrupting existing users or overhauling infrastructure. It is built on an open software defined architecture, seamlessly integrated into multi vendor networks, and supports automated service delivery through Adtran’s Mosaic cloud platform.

In the categories of tools and measurements, Adtran’s ALM has gained recognition for redefining how service providers monitor and manage fiber infrastructure. This compact, low-power device provides real-time visibility of the entire optical factory, allowing operators to detect and accurately locate issues before they affect customers. A key innovation is its deep PON assurance capability, which makes it possible to monitor the fiber behind the splitter without calibrating the reflector. This is particularly valuable for FTTH deployment, as the scale and complexity may make fault detection and resolution a significant operational challenge. By supporting both fixed and mobile access networks, ALM enables operators to improve service quality while reducing operating costs.
