Nokia announced that its three network APIs – Quality of Service on Demand (QoS), number verification, and device location verification – are now available on Google Cloud Marketplace, making it easier for thousands of developers around the world to access these APIs to write applications that developer customers can use.

Google Cloud Marketplace provides customers with a universal solution catalog from Google Cloud and its partner ecosystem for customers to discover and use.

Developers can use Nokia APIs provided by Google Cloud Marketplace to access multiple mobile networks and create new applications. In addition, Nokia’s Network as Code platform and developer portal offer standardized access to network functions without the need to browse any underlying network technologies. More Nokia APIs are expected to be available in the future Google Cloud marketplace.

Shkumbin Hamiti, Vice President of Nokia Cloud and Network Services and Head of Network Monetization Platform, stated that the availability of Nokia APIs on Google Cloud Marketplace is aimed at making it easier for developers to access and simplify the use of trusted network intelligence. This is just Nokia’s latest move to connect programmable network assets with a leading developer ecosystem. ”

Nokia APIs use GSMA Open Gateway and CAMARA Open Standards as templates, allowing developers to run applications that work globally with the support of Nokia’s growing CSP partner network.

Through automation, on-demand service quality APIs can effectively require networks to provide guaranteed and reliable connections within specified times, such as live streaming at large-scale events with thousands of attendees.

Nokia’s number verification APIs can verify whether a phone number belongs to the person using it, allowing industries such as financial services and retail to reduce fraud and strengthen user verification.

Similarly, device location verification can authenticate the business transaction requests of device owners based on their phone location and the location from which the request comes.

Muninder Singh Sambi, Vice President and General Manager of Network and Security at Google Cloud, said, “This collaboration with Nokia will directly provide advanced telecommunications network capabilities to developers and enterprises through the Google Cloud Marketplace. It will make network APIs such as number verification and device location verification easy to access, unlocking new possibilities for secure and intelligent digital experiences, and emphasizing the value created by the integration of telecommunications and cloud innovation.”
