Oracle and AT&T collaborate to promote deep integration of 5G networks and cloud applicationshas partnered with AT&T to deliver its cloud applications to multiple industry verticals, including remote healthcare and automated utility grid management, utilizing the operator’s 5G network and programmable APIs.

Oracle stated that its integration with AT&T enables its cloud application customers to connect and manage IoT devices on carrier networks on a single platform.

Its Enterprise Communications Platform (ECP) utilizes AT&T’s network and APIs to provide IoT connectivity and near real-time communication for its industry cloud application suite.

ECP is based on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and provides a communication backbone and edge architecture that users can directly embed into Oracle’s industry application stack. Earlier this year, the platform was announced.

One of the cooperation cases provided by Oracle is in the field of public safety. The FirstNet national public safety network built by AT&T, together with ECP, provides a platform for Oracle’s products to provide secure communication for dispatch command centers and provide near real-time camera video streams to first responders.

Sarita Rao, Senior Vice President of Collaborative Solutions at AT&T, explained that the two companies are providing tighter network and application integration for enterprises and organizations to drive performance and reliability improvements, while also eliminating integration requirements and separate contract events.
