Inseego announced the completion of its acquisition of Nokia’s Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) business. The transaction was initially announced to the public on April 30, 2026.
This acquisition is expected to approximately double Inseego’s revenue and position the company as a global leader in wireless broadband. By incorporating indoor, outdoor, and millimeter wave FWA solutions into its wireless broadband product portfolio, Inseego’s coverage in the consumer and enterprise connectivity markets will further expand. This transaction also expands Inseego’s business footprint to major operators in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas, and significantly enhances its engineering capabilities.
After the completion of the transaction, approximately 250 employees related to the acquired business will support Inseego’s expanded business operations, covering areas such as engineering, product management, supply chain and procurement, and customer support. This includes both employees who have joined Inseego and Nokia employees who will continue to provide support for the business under the transition service agreement.
To support its global business expansion, Inseego has established an international headquarters in Amsterdam, a research and development center in Athens, expanded its business layout in Bangalore, and added customer facing sales and technical resources in various new markets.
Inseego CEO Juho Sarvikas stated, “With the completion of the acquisition, Inseego has embarked on the next chapter as a global leader in wireless broadband. We now have sufficient scale, technology, and global coverage capabilities to provide support for operators in enterprise, residential, and mobile application scenarios. ”
According to the terms of the acquisition and Nokia’s equally completed $10 million cash investment in Inseego, Nokia acquired equity in Inseego – approximately 1.9 million shares of Inseego common stock, accounting for approximately 11% of the ownership interest. Nokia also obtained warrants to purchase a total of no more than approximately 800000 ordinary shares at an exercise price of $4.26 per share.
In addition to the previously announced acquisition terms, Nokia will also pay Inseego $10 million in cash by October 15, 2026, to support Inseego’s engineering investments over the next year and promote interoperability between its device operating system and cloud platform with certain Nokia technology ecosystems.
Inseego and Nokia have jointly designed a collaborative framework to ensure business continuity for existing customers and support future growth. Nokia will provide support during the transition period and refer new FWA business opportunities to Inseego, including FWA as part of Nokia’s broader network deployment; Simultaneously balancing the goal of delivering results in the way that best meets customer interests and needs.
The cooperation between the two sides will also extend to technical cooperation, involving AI-RAN (Artificial Intelligence Wireless Access Network), integration of optical fiber and 5G connection, end-to-end network optimization, distributed edge computing and other fields. The two companies will jointly explore how to leverage Nokia’s network infrastructure and Inseego’s intelligent edge solutions to drive the development of AI driven network technology and wireless edges.
Konstanty Owczarek, Chief Corporate Development Officer of Nokia, said, “This is an important milestone for our customers, both teams, and both companies. Inseego has the professional focus and capabilities needed to drive FWA business forward. Our continuous cooperation combines the technology and capabilities of both parties, which can create greater value for customers. “
