According to the latest report released by the Dell’Oro Group, the revenue from 5G mobile core networks in the EMEA region grew by over 30% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, contributing the highest revenue to the global 5G MCN market.

Sian Morgan, Senior Director at Dell’Oro Group, stated: “Since 2026, 80% of operators launching consumer-facing 5G SA networks are located in Europe. This has driven EMEA region 5G MCN revenue to a historical high in 2Q26, and we anticipate further expansion in the region over the next few quarters.”

“Despite rising server costs forcing mobile network operators to carefully evaluate network project expenses, 5G MCN still achieved growth. On the other hand, IMS revenue contracted for the third consecutive quarter, with declining voice core network revenue in most regions,” Morgan added.

2Q26 Mobile Core Network and Multi-access Edge Computing Report Other Highlights:

– The MCN market remains stable, with Huawei, Ericsson, and Nokia’s MCN revenue growth aligned with the overall market expansion.

– 4G wireless packet core network revenue surpassed the overall market growth rate for the third consecutive quarter, driven by mobile network operators that have not yet transitioned to 5G standalone.

– On a nominal basis, 5G MCN revenue has yet to reach the level of 4G MCN, as the pressure to automate operations and increase ARPU offsets the rising infrastructure costs.
