Inligo Networks is an independent private owner and operator of submarine cables, having selected AFL as the primary cable supplier for the Unite Cable System (UNITE).
Unite Cable System (UNITE) is a high-capacity, low-latency terrestrial cable network spanning six Australian states and territories. Through its collaboration with AFL, Inligo will accelerate the construction of a critical “digital highway” to connect international submarine cables, major data centers, and regional hubs.
UNITE focuses on providing Australian customers with an alternative, low-latency, high-capacity transmission service path to Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific region.
Specifically, UNITE will ultimately provide customers in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Darwin with an alternative, low-latency, high-capacity transmission service route connecting to Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific region. All these services will be delivered through a unified terrestrial and submarine cable system optical platform.

Phase-based deployment
The UNITE is currently being rolled out in phases, connecting Darwin, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, and key regional centers.
Upon completion, this project will serve as the backbone network for operators, enterprises, international submarine cable network owners, and regional communities currently lacking adequate services due to insufficient existing infrastructure.
Each pair of fibers in the network will support at least 40 wavelengths of 400Gbps.
Connect to the domestic network
In addition to UNITE in Australia, Inligo is also building a domestic network along the U.S. West Coast (USWEST), connecting Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle. Inligo has also deployed network infrastructure in Singapore, Indonesia, and East Timor.
Inligo has built a unique network that supports customization.
The domestic network design employs WSS (Wavelength Selective Switch) ROADM technology, enabling wavelength services between POPs (Points of Presence) within the country’s domestic network rather than at international landing stations, thereby delivering a seamless connectivity experience across all locations of its network.
Since WSS technology is modular, it can be customized for individual wavelengths and provides highly precise wavelength selection, switching, power monitoring, and automatic power balancing functions within a single device.
