According to foreign media reports, AI super-scale startup Nscale has signed a major agreement with Microsoft to deploy Nvidia AI hardware across multiple data centers.

The AI cloud provider announced on October 15 that it has reached an agreement with Microsoft to deploy approximately 200,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs across three European data centers and one in the United States. These GPUs will be delivered through Nscale’s own operations division and a joint venture established with Aker Investment, one of its investors.

Approximately half of the GPUs (104,000 units) will be deployed in the Texas data center leased by Ionic Digital within the next 12 to 18 months. Nscale plans to increase the power capacity at this location to 1.2 gigawatts. Additionally, starting from the first quarter of 2026, Nscale will deploy 12,600 GPUs to the Start Campus data center in Sintra, Portugal.

This agreement is based on the prior collaboration plan between Microsoft and Aker regarding data centers in Norway and the UK. Nscale will begin delivering 23,000 GPUs to its Loughton campus in the UK starting in 2027, and the remaining 52,000 GPUs will be shipped to Microsoft’s AI campus in Narvik, Norway.

Nscale founder and CEO Josh Payne stated in the company’s press release, “This agreement confirms Nscale’s position as the preferred partner for the world’s most important technology leaders. Few companies possess the capability to deploy GPUs on such a scale, but we have the experience and established global delivery channels to achieve it.” This statement is particularly bold, given that Nscale was founded in 2024. Since its launch, the company has raised over $1.7 billion from strategic partners including Aker, Nokia, and Nvidia. Nscale has also secured funding from investors such as Sandton Capital Partners, G Squared, and Point72. Payne told the Financial Times that the company is considering an IPO as early as the end of next year.

Payne stated in the press release: “The pace at which we are scaling production not only demonstrates our readiness but also reflects our commitment to efficiency, sustainability, and delivering the most advanced technology to our customers. This clearly shows that Nscale is setting new standards for the next wave of AI infrastructure delivery methods.”

GPU trading has become increasingly active recently. OpenAI announced last week that it would purchase $60 billion worth of chips from AMD. Additionally, OpenAI recently signed an agreement with Nvidia in September, under which Nvidia will invest up to $100 billion in exchange for $100 billion worth of chips.
