VIAVI announced that alternative network (Alt Net) operator Netonia has chosen VIAVI’s ONMSi Remote Fiber Testing System (RFTS) to simplify and accelerate network installation and ongoing maintenance, helping the company rapidly expand its business in the UK.
As the second largest Alt Net operator in the UK, Netonia, together with YouFibre and BRSK, has achieved service coverage in 2.5 million residential/premises and network connectivity in 325000 premises. The group’s annual expansion rate reaches 1 million locations, and it is expected that by the end of 2025, the number of locations covered by services will reach 3 million. A new goal has been set: by the end of 2027, the service coverage will reach 5 million locations.
The ONMSi system validated on site by VIAVI will play a critical role in supporting business growth, improving network deployment efficiency and management levels, while optimizing maintenance and operations throughout the entire lifecycle. Netonia will utilize ONMSi’s remote on-demand testing capabilities through mobile applications to perform end-to-end authentication testing during the construction phase. In addition, with the help of the non reflector function, the system will monitor the network health and performance of the property optical network terminal (ONT) throughout the entire process.
