The latest DarkStar Aggregation Transponder 100 (DAT100) launched by XKL provides an innovative solution for service providers to maximize the utilization of existing 10G network equipment during the upgrade process to 100G and above services.
DAT100 allows data center operators, cloud service providers, and enterprise customers to aggregate multiple 10G Ethernet (10GbE) services into a single 100G channel for transmission, thereby extending the lifespan of existing 10G devices and improving efficiency.
The core advantage of this product lies in providing diversified choices for operators:
Supports multiple types of optical modules, compatible with SR4, LR4, coherent DWDM and other 10G/100G transceivers, covering application scenarios from short-range connections to data center interconnection
Adopting a compact 1RU design, suitable for deployment at the network edge
When used with a 100G coherent optical module, there is no need for an external dispersion compensation module, effectively reducing the additional components required for signal integrity
This product also has integrated management functions that traditional exchange platforms lack, without relying on independent management software. Chad Lamb, Chief System Architect of XKL, said, “By providing an alternative solution based on optical modules, customers can significantly reduce operating costs while meeting higher capacity requirements.
