Nokia has announced that it has established a partnership with Lightstorm in India to provide the latest WDM optical network solution for Lightstorm’s network expansion in eastern and northern India. The protocol includes integration and consulting services to assist Lightstorm in deploying Nokia’s latest C+L-band WDM fiber line system solution, which also has protection functions to ensure network resilience in the case of multiple fiber cutting. Recently, Lightstorm has completed coverage enhancement.
Lightstorm is an innovative provider of telecommunications neutral digital infrastructure for enterprise customers. Their SmartNet long-distance routes in India provide next-generation network architecture for enterprise customers, with lower latency, 100% uptime, and complete end-to-end control and management capabilities.
As Lightstorm expands its coverage in large areas of eastern and northern India, it is expanding its existing partnership with Nokia. The expansion network utilizes Nokia’s 1830 Photon Service Switch (PSS) optical transmission platform and integrates its fifth generation coherent optical chipset (PSE-V), expanding the total capacity to multi terabytes. This significant improvement will help Lightstorm provide greater capacity to its existing customers and a higher service and benefit baseline for new customers. 1830 is the future proof of Nokia’s sixth generation PSE-6, as capacity demand further increases.
