Recently, China Unicom 5G OPENLAB laboratory, together with Guangxi Unicom, Shenzhen Guangtong Yuanchi, and Shanghai Youka Technology, completed the performance verification test of the vehicle specification level module AN758-CN. It is reported that this module will gradually be applied to multiple new energy models of Geely Automobile and achieve large-scale production and sales. The commercial application of 5G in the context of vehicle networking has taken a solid step forward.
Relying on the advanced end-to-end network testing environment of China Unicom 5G OPENLAB laboratory, testers conducted complete testing on the network performance of the AN758-CN module, including uplink and downlink speed, RTT delay, packet loss rate, business reliability, and environmental reliability projects such as high and low temperature operation and electromagnetic compatibility. The test results indicate that the module fully meets the requirements of the Internet of Vehicles scenario in terms of functionality and performance, and can meet the requirements of mass production and commercial use of vehicle front loading. This module will be applied to the “Geely 5G Intelligent Connected Vehicle Project” in cooperation between Guangxi Unicom and Shanghai Youka Technology, providing 5G access capabilities for multiple new energy models of Geely. This project is an in-depth practice of Guangxi Unicom and Geely Automobile in the application of 5G+vehicle networking, providing an integrated solution for the automotive manufacturing industry through 5G+AI+big data capabilities.
It is reported that China Unicom 5G OPENLAB Lab is an innovative technology service open platform for China Unicom Group to build an ecosystem for the convergence industry. It has a network test environment and automated test process leading the current generation of networks, and can conduct scenario verification tests on 5G key features such as 5G LAN, high-precision time service, uRLLC (ultra high reliability and ultra low delay communication) enhancement, and network slice management. At the same time, edge computing devices such as the dedicated Unicom MEC deployed in the laboratory can test and verify the low latency and localized business requirements in the industry scenario. At present, the laboratory has collaborated with industry partners to complete the testing and verification of over 80 5G terminal modules, and issued them with ecological certification certificates. The certification terminal tested through OPENLAB will be recommended for use in other 5G projects to promote high-quality development of 5G applications.
