These orders will be delivered at the beginning of 2023 without causing major interference to customers. At the same time, business activity and order volume remained strong in the fourth quarter.
The rapid growth of Ekinops Group in 2022 was driven by the strong demand for all its product lines, especially optical transmission solutions (up 29% in 2022), which was driven by the success of 200 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s WDM systems, especially in North America.
Access solutions reported an annual growth of 20%, mainly driven by the sharp rebound in French business.
The share of software and services business continued to grow, accounting for 15% of the Group’s revenue in 2022. Thanks to the software sales that promote the virtualization of network functions and the companies that focus on providing more services, the annual revenue of the software and service departments increased by more than 38%.
The characteristic of 2022 is that international growth remains dynamic, with an annual growth of 17%. International business accounted for 64% in 2022 (67% in 2021).
In North America, business activities continued to grow strongly, with North American revenue of 29.8 million euros in 2022 and 19.1 million euros in 2021, a significant increase of 56% (39% in US dollars). Ekinops benefited from the strong demand for optical transmission equipment in the region. North America accounted for 23% of the Group’s total sales in 2022 (18% in 2021).
The Asia-Pacific region achieved strong growth in 2022, with an annual growth of 38%. The region accounted for 7% of the total business of Ekinops in 2022 (6% in 2021).
The revenue of EMEA (Europe, excluding France, the Middle East and Africa) in fiscal year 2022 was 43.5 million euros, a slight decrease of 2% compared with the previous year, mainly due to the base effect (EMEA achieved the strongest growth in 2021, reaching 29%). EMEA accounts for 34% of the total business of Ekinops (43% in 2021).
Ekinops has resumed rapid growth in France; In the domestic market, the sales of Ekinops reached 45.9 million euros in 2022, a significant increase of 36% (- 0.3% in 2021), accounting for 36% of the group’s total revenue (33% in 2021). This growth is the result of the strong growth of EKINOPS long-term customer sales.
Didier Brédy, chairman and CEO of Ekinops, said: “Although the market environment is chaotic and the production is facing challenges at the end of the year, our growth will still accelerate significantly in 2022, from 12% in 2021 to 23% in 2022. 2023 has a good start, and the demand is high, which can be seen from our record order volume in 2023. We continue to win market share, which is due to our differentiated services in the market segments and the better ability to meet the delivery time required by existing and new customers than other companies “
