Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) and Ericsson announced the launch of free digital technology and 5G online academic courses for students at all levels of higher education in Malaysia. The “MY5G Ericsson Malaysia Pioneer Program” will be broadcast online from January 11, 2023, serving DNB’s goal of contributing to the development of national science and technology talents. This is a key step to realize a mature 5G technology ecosystem, which is in line with Malaysia’s long-term vision of digital economy.
With 5G catalyzing the socio-economic transformation of the country, this technology is also shaping the future of education, which is more important than ever before. Cultivating future leaders (beneficiaries of 5G) needs to provide tools and materials for the next generation. We need to cultivate a new generation of independent learners.

This course is the first customized learning course for 5G and digital technology provided by Ericsson in Malaysia. This course is specially designed for Malaysian students and will provide 42 hours of learning content, aiming at improving digital skills, knowledge and awareness of emerging technologies. This will enable students to develop the skills and abilities they need to meet the rapidly changing skill requirements in today’s increasingly digital world.
This course includes three modules to let students understand the technical functions and applications of digital services in detail. In the process of learning these three modules, students will be asked to develop a solution for fictitious potential buyers, from conception and theoretical prototype to fully formed sales promotion. Students will participate in the online assessment of each module and receive the Ericsson digital badge after passing all the assessments.

As part of the course, students will also have the opportunity to creatively solve practical problems in various industries and departments in Malaysia by discovering, analyzing and developing AI driven digital solutions. Digital solutions will address different business-related issues to achieve positive environmental and social impacts.
