According to foreign media, UScelluar, the fourth largest mobile network operator in the United States, is expanding its 5G network in several states. With this expansion, 1.4 million people can now use the company’s 5G network.
Using the function called X2 coordination in 4G and 5G technologies, UScellular can extend the existing 5G services to adjacent sites, so that more customers can use 5G.

In addition to expanding the availability and coverage of 5G services, UScellular has also expanded its automation capabilities. UScellular has expanded its automation capabilities to speed up the deployment of these services through greater autonomy, improved real-time network updates, and a function called Automatic Neighborhood Relationship (ANR). This automation complements the work of UScellular engineers, enabling them to focus on other high-value work that contributes to network quality and reliability.Robert Jakubek, UScellular’s vice president of engineering and network operations, said: “These updates enable us to get more returns from our investment and enhance the customer experience, whether they access our 5G network through smartphones, tablets or home Internet. This expansion is part of UScellular’s long-term network modernization plan. This means that the company’s 5G coverage has increased by 5%, extending these higher data speeds to more than 50% of its network coverage. This is an element of the company’s use of AI technology to help ensure that its network operates at the highest performance. With 5G deployed in more markets, UScellular plans to implement ANR in the future base station construction and upgrading.
