Today, Intel released its first and the world’s first 5G M.2 solution certified by global operators-“Intel 5G 5000” (FM350-GL), which can be directly plugged into the M.2 standard of notebooks interface, providing 5G Internet service.

What many people may not know is that the scale of Intel’s 4G solution is actually quite large. More than 5 million 4G LTE baseband products have been shipped in the past year. Among the OEM products that claim to have real sales on the market, three of four used Intel’s 4G solution.

Following the previous announcement of cooperation with MediaTek and Guanghetong, Intel now offers a 5G baseband solution, claiming that no matter where it is used, the speed can reach Intel’s LTE gigabit rate solution nearly 5 times.

Acer, Asus, and HP will be the first batch of OEM manufacturers, this year the first to launch six new generation fully connected notebooks equipped with Intel 5G 5000 solution, with 11-generation Core U-series or H-series processors.

It is estimated that by the end of next year, more than 30 models will adopt the Intel 5G 5000 solution.

Intel said that the combination of 5G and Wi-Fi 6E (Giga+) can achieve a seamless and smooth experience between different network types and become the main pillar to meet the general interconnection needs in the future.
