To advance the technological innovation and coordinated development of the information and communication industry, and promote the company to be among the world’s leading information service technology companies, the China Mobile Association for Science and Technology will hold series of activities of the 2021 Science and Technology Workers’ Day and Science and Technology Week from May 24-28, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology. The “National Science and Technology Week” and the “National Science and Technology Workers Day” organized by the China Association for Science and Technology resonated at the same frequency.

At the main forum of Science and Technology Week this morning, the China Mobile Academician Workstation was unveiled and the China Mobile Academy of Future Sciences and the Innovation Center for the Information and Communication Chip Industry Chain were established on site.

According to Huang Yuhong, vice president of China Mobile Research Institute, on April 27, 2021, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Association officially approved the establishment of the “China Mobile Academician Workstation”. This workstation is the first academician expert workstation approved by a domestic telecommunications operator. By introducing and cultivating top scientists represented by academicians, it conducts applied basic research, key core technology research, scientific and technological strategy consulting, innovative talent training and achievement transformation, etc. The series of tasks are important measures taken by China Mobile to implement the national innovation-driven development strategy. It is understood that Zhang Ping, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, is the first academician to enter the station of the Academician Workstation of China Mobile.

In order to further implement the strategic deployment of strengthening basic research, assume the responsibilities of central enterprises, seize the commanding heights of technological innovation, and ensure the long-term and healthy development of the industry and the company, China Mobile established the “Future Research Institute” on the 24th. The goal of the Future Research Institute is to build a high-end technology think tank and technology innovation engine in the field of information communication and related pan-information sciences in the future, and is committed to becoming the world’s leading “fundamental core theory and original technology researcher” and “a leader in forward-looking research in key areas” and “an important resource aggregator in the field of future research.”
