Recently, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released the “Cloud Access Business Development Monitoring Report (2020)”, which comprehensively sorts out the data reported by IDC and cloud access service companies that have obtained licenses in the national Internet information security management system, and analyzes cloud access development trend of the number of service companies, network resources, and distribution, forming first-hand information on the development of cloud access services. The report shows that China Telecom is in the forefront in terms of the number of cloud computer rooms and total bandwidth. In addition, it is worth noting that among the TOP10 companies in terms of number of users, China Telecom’s number of users exceeds the sum of the third to tenth places, and is in an absolute leading position.
Under the new infrastructure, our country’s cloud services have entered the fast lane of development. According to data disclosed by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, in 2019, our country’s cloud computing market reached 133.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.6%, showing a rapid growth trend. The rapid development of cloud computing is closely related to the policy “dividends” released by the country. In recent years, the State Council and industry authorities have attached great importance to the development of the cloud computing industry and have successively issued policy planning documents to continuously optimize the industrial development environment and vigorously support enterprises to go to the cloud. This year, driven by the national development plan for the construction of new infrastructure, cloud computing, as the foundation of the “new infrastructure”, has pressed the “fast forward button” for the digital economy.
At the same time, with the development of technology and the advancement of applications, cloud computing has become more efficient, convenient, and flexible to expand. Especially after the outbreak of the epidemic this year, telecommuting, online education, online exhibitions, telemedicine and other phenomena have soared, and the explosive growth of enterprises’ own data volume has further accelerated the pace of digital and intelligent development of enterprises.
Driven by both policies and the market, cloud computing has ushered in a golden age. The strong development momentum of the cloud market is expected to continue in the next few years. There is huge room for industry development and the cloud computing field will also burst into greater vitality. Basic telecommunications companies, traditional IT vendors, Internet companies, and system integrators have come together to make an all-out attack on multiple tracks such as public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud.
This is closely related to China Telecom’s early deployment of cloud network resources. It is reported that China Telecom launched the Tianyi Cloud development strategy as early as 2009. After more than ten years of intensive development, Tianyi Cloud has unique resource advantages and formed a “2+4+31+x” national resource layout, becoming the first cloud service provider that realizes “one province, one pool”. At present, China Telecom has built more than 700 data centers and 315 cloud resource pools, ranking first in China’s hybrid cloud market, and ranking first in the domestic comprehensive IDC business.
It is understood that China Telecom is a basic operator, and many cloud service providers’ public and private clouds will choose to deploy in the IDC computer room of China Telecom. Therefore, Tianyi Cloud has a natural advantage and can integrate various clouds. Based on this, China Telecom’s full-stack hybrid cloud can not only seamlessly connect with the Tianyi Cloud public cloud, but also support large-scale cluster private and public deployment, realize the same technical architecture of the underlying cloud platform, and seamlessly extend cloud capabilities and cover the edge deployment of three types of scenarios, private cloud, and industry cloud, seamlessly covers the scenarios.
It can be said that after ten years of hard work, Tianyi Cloud has been at the forefront of the industry, whether it is the overall layout of resources or independent research and development capabilities. Currently, the cloud computing market continues to grow and competition is fierce. Companies that are racing on the cloud computing track are facing one challenge after another. In this indispensable track for infrastructure, technology accumulation, capital investment, and ecological construction, the market share of cloud computing continues to concentrate on leading companies. In the next few years, traditional enterprises going to the cloud will become the focus of cloud giants. China Telecom will accelerate the reshuffle of the entire cloud market by virtue of its abundant resources, government and enterprise service advantages, and open ecosystem.
