Although Huawei’s 5G communication equipment has suffered too much unequal treatment in the global market, according to market research agency Dell’Oro, the changes in the global 5G communication equipment market share from the first quarter to the third quarter of 2020, the US ban and suppression did indeed make Huawei’s share damaged, and Ericsson became the biggest beneficiary, but Huawei still maintained its number one position after ups and downs.
Specifically, as early as the first quarter of this year, Huawei led by 35.7%, followed by Ericsson at 24.6%, followed by Nokia, Samsung, and ZTE. In the second quarter of the year, with the official large-scale launch of China’s 5G construction, the shares of Huawei and ZTE skyrocketed to 43.7% and 16.4%, respectively. The momentum is very rapid.
And when entering the third quarter, as Huawei was sanctioned by the United States, its share fell to 32.8%, while Ericsson quickly rose to 30.7%. Obviously it became the biggest winner after Huawei was sanctioned, but it is still difficult to rival Huawei’s outstanding performance. ZTE’s market share has also fallen to 14.2%, but it still ranks third in the world.
The research organization believes that due to the early stage of 5G construction and the complex international environment, the shares of major equipment vendors have fluctuated significantly, and there are still huge variables in the future.
