International Data Corporation (IDC) released the latest “China V-Cloud Market Tracking (Second Half of 2019)” report. The report shows that China’s V-Cloud market reached US$4.62 billion in 2019. Among them, the V-Cloud solution market is growing rapidly, and Tencent’s cloud position ranks first.

According to the definition, this V-Cloud research covers all public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure for video application scenarios, video content delivery network; and cloud platforms and application solutions deployed on V-Cloud infrastructure program.

The report shows that the V-Cloud solution market is growing faster than the cloud infrastructure market is, with growth rates reaching 53.9% and 45.0% respectively. It is not difficult to see that in the future, V-Cloud solutions will become an important measurement dimension in the V-Cloud market. In this market, public cloud service providers dominate, Tencent Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, Baidu Cloud, Kingsoft Cloud, and Huawei Cloud are among the top five, together occupying 64.9% of the market share.

In terms of V-Cloud infrastructure, it is divided into public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure market and CDN market. Among them, the CDN market is larger than the public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure market. The two sub-markets are basically stable, with market shares mainly concentrated in leading companies such as Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, and Baidu Cloud.

At present, the focus of major service providers in the field of V-Cloud competition is not only on the output of underlying resources and basic technical capabilities, but also on excellent product quality and the ability to provide enterprises with stable and high-quality services.

Take Tencent Cloud as an example, in terms of infrastructure, the overall resource reserve and business emergent capacity are leading the industry. The Gartner Peer Insights platform annual report “‘Voice of the Customer: CDN Services” released by Gartner previously showed that Tencent Cloud CDN products entered the top 5 global CDN service providers selected by customers, ranking second in the world with a comprehensive score of 4.5 points. Besides, during the epidemic, Tencent Cloud successfully carried the Spring Festival Gala webcast bandwidth, and supported a video platform to operate bandwidth; at the same time, technical support was provided to conduct the reports of “Huoshenshan Hospital” and “Huoshenshan Hospital”.

In terms of solutions, Tencent Cloud provides users with special integration solutions for the differentiated needs of different business scenarios such as conferences, online education, and ordinary live broadcasts. Users can combine different solutions for their different business scenarios. During the epidemic, Tencent Cloud doubled its overall traffic bandwidth in the audio and video field. Among them, the average daily time of Tencent Cloud’s real-time audio and video exceeded 3 billion minutes, and the concurrent peak calls and microphone connections reached tens of millions.

In recent years, driven by multiple stimuli from government policies, social needs, the Internet and 5G and other new technologies, domestic leading cloud computing vendors such as Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud have increased their deployment in the V-Cloud field. Many forms such as live broadcast, video have gradually derived other than entertainment. More business models, and accelerate the expansion of e-commerce, education, medical care, finance and other fields. The industry has transitioned from the cultivation period to the growth period, showing a momentum of rapid growth.

IDC predicts that by 2024, China’s V-Cloud market will exceed 22 billion. With the accelerated development of new infrastructure in the information and communication field, the value of V-Cloud in multi-scenario applications will become more and more prominent, or it will become an indispensable enterprise productivity.
