The 2019 China International Intelligent Industry Expo was held on August 26th at the Chongqing International Expo Center. Han Xia, Director of the Information and Communication Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the “5G Intelligent Future Summit Forum” of the 2019 China International Intelligent Industry Expo. He said that more than 50,000 5G base stations will be built in 50 cities in 2019, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will continue to deepen the promotion of the development of 5G.
Han Xia said that since the beginning of this year, the global 5G industry has entered a critical period of commercial development. On June 6 this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued 5G commercial licenses to China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Radio and Television, marking the official entry of China’s 5G into a new stage of commercial promotion and development. With the joint efforts of all parties, China’s 5G commercial development has started well, the industrial ecology has continued to mature, and the basic telecommunications enterprises in the network construction have steadily advanced.
More than 50,000 5G base stations will be built in 50 cities in 2019. The 5G+ industrial Internet and the Internet of Vehicles have achieved important breakthroughs in the integration application. In the transportation, medical and other industries, hundreds of 5G innovative application scenarios have been formed. In terms of equipment management, as of the end of July, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology had issued 7 approvals for 5G equipment and 370,000 network access signs, and many key technologies for 5G achieved breakthroughs. The situation of effectively allocating the capital chain and the innovation chain around the industrial chain has taken shape. In terms of security, the related work of 5G network facilities, system application security, and data security has been further advanced.
As the influence of China’s 5G international discourse rights continues to increase, 5G, as an important driving force for the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, will play a key role in supporting the high-quality development of China’s economy. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has proposed four points for the development of 5G.
First, accelerate the construction of 5G networks, accelerate the investment of basic telecommunications enterprises, accelerate access to the network, vigorously promote 5G application services, and accelerate the establishment of a globally leading 5G network covering the country’s advanced technology, high quality and efficient operation, and consolidate the new foundation for the development of 5G industry.
The second is to build a new ecology of the 5G industry. Guided by the market and business, we will study and formulate 5G cross-industry application guidance policies and series of integration standards to further promote the integration and development of 5G and vertical industries and fields such as manufacturing, transportation, medical care, education, energy and agriculture. It has also fostered a group of enterprises and specialized, refined, special and new demonstration enterprises, and gradually formed a new advantage for China’s 5G commercial development.
The third is to create a 5G development environment, strengthen 5G standards development, application promotion, industry management, security assurance, resource allocation policy coordination, promote cross-departmental, cross-regional, cross-industry collaboration, strengthen science and technology, finance, finance, taxation, talent, knowledge, policy support and other policies support the formation of a new atmosphere for 5G commercial development.
We should strengthen cooperation with relevant countries and international institutions, comprehensively deepen the 5G international consensus, and work together to create an open and win-win 5G industrial ecology, and strive to form a new situation of sharing business.
