Vodafone Germany, following market leader Deutsche Telekom, launched a 5G network with an initial target of 20 key towns.

Vodafone said in a statement that it has already launched the first 5G antennas, the first wholesale cities including Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Dortmund and Munich. In August this year, the company will extend the technology to other major cities, including Berlin and Frankfurt, and plan to be in 25 cities, 25 municipalities and 10 industries by the end of the fiscal year (end of March 2020). The park conducts business.

Competitor Deutsche Telekom went public on July 3 and launched the technology in six cities.  The company said its goal is to cover the 20 largest cities in the country in the next 18 months.

Vodafone’s German 5G business was launched in the UK earlier this month, when the company focused on low-cost strategies.

It is worth noting that the company has taken the same approach in Germany, offering a one-year new 5G service starting at €14.99 per month, while the price of unlimited service is €80 per month, compared to Deutsche Telekom (Deutsche Telekom). A similar service is 5 euros lower.

Hannes Ametsreiter, CEO of Vodafone Germany, said: “For us, 5G is more than just a technology for high-income people.”

On the terminal side, it will provide Huawei Mate 20 X 5G and Samsung Galaxy S10 5G mobile phones.
