It is reported that this is the first 5G commercial live broadcast in China, and it is also the first live broadcast of 5G+VR in China.

The live broadcast of heavy horses is only a case of Chongqing Unicom promoting 5G applications.

According to reports, in 2018, Chongqing Unicom has carried out 5G experiments as one of the 17 cities of China Unicom. In 2019, Chongqing was identified as one of the 7 5G scale network cities of Unicom Group.  At present, Chongqing Unicom has completed the construction of the 5G core network and built 50 5G test sites.  In terms of 5G applications, smart scenes, red education and car networking, 5G cruises and other scenarios have been successfully built.

For example, on January 15 this year, Chongqing Unicom signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chongqing Vehicle Inspection and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. to jointly build the first 5G-V2X automatic driving base and innovation platform in Chongqing.

In terms of 5G smart tourism, Chongqing Unicom selected Wulong Scenic Spot, a famous scenic spot in Chongqing. Chongqing Unicom also deployed 5G experimental network in Geleshan, using VR technology to cooperate with Hongyan Museum to innovate “5G+VR+red education”.

At the beginning of this month, Chongqing Unicom 5G+VR appeared on the cruise ship “Changhang Chaotianyuyue”. It is understood that this is the first 5G technology cruise ship VR super-experience project in China.  In addition to the VR cruise experience, Chongqing Unicom also launched a 5G-based “black technology” – AR holographic projection real-time video, using this technology, in the future during the phone call, you can project the other party’s holographic image.  Both sides of the call can be like a “face-to-face” chat together.

It is reported that according to the plan, the scale of 5G base station construction of Chongqing Unicom at the end of 2019 is expected to reach 1,688, which will allow 5G applications to move to more scenarios.
